A numerology chart has six core numbers: three from your date of birth and three from your birth name. Here is what each one is, how it is calculated and what it describes.
Life Path Number
The main number in a numerology chart, worked out from your full date of birth.
Expression / Destiny Number
Worked out from every letter of your full birth name; describes your natural talents.
Soul Urge / Heart’s Desire Number
Worked out from the vowels in your birth name; describes what you want deep down.
Personality Number
Worked out from the consonants in your birth name; describes the first impression you make.
Birthday Number
The day of the month you were born, reduced to one digit; describes a particular talent.
Personal Year Number

How the 6 Numbers Synthesize
Date numbers and name numbers
Your Date of Birth numbers (Life Path, Birthday and Personal Year) come from when you were born. They describe your general direction, a particular talent, and the theme of the current year.
Your Name numbers (Expression, Soul Urge and Personality) come from your birth name. They describe your talents, your inner wishes and the impression you make.
When the numbers agree, and when they do not
Sometimes the numbers point the same way: a Life Path 3 with an Expression 5 is read as someone suited to lively, public, communicative work.
